As I mentioned a couple of months ago, my mother-in-law recently retired and was in the market for a laptop. Over Easter she became the proud owner of my MacBook Pro, seemingly cured of its inability to sleep upon lid closure. I then ran out and upgraded to a MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo and was happy with it for all of two weeks before (shock!), it started to reboot when I'd close the lid. But only sometimes. And on days that end in "y."
Truly, internets, I am cursed. Luckily, though, my local Genius opted to replace the whole machine (don't even get me started on why that was ok this time around but not for the 6 months I was saddled with problematic MBP #1). I guess the lesson here is to have your machine repaired in-store instead of dealing with Apple Care over the phone? *shrug* I dunno. All's I know is that I'm now on MBP number three and if something funny starts happening with this one when I close the lid, I'm throwing in my iTowel.
